Question of the Day: Brown-bag lunch—what's in yours?

16 Comments:

Today I have Black Bean Caribbean soup that I purchased from Wegman's supermarket this morning...it is out of this world!! They have the best soups. I also have some baby greens & roasted red pepper that I'm going to make a small salad out of. Today is a healthy day. :-)

I've got some tomato bisque leftover from Monday, pumpernickel bread, and an apple. And a cupcake!

Whatever I have left over from dinner last night. Today is Green Curry Chicken with Jasmine Rice. I like to make it the way Elephant does with chicken legs rather than boneless chicken.

A hard boiled egg, some almond butter, a slice of sprouted bread. jeez this sounds really healthy...not my usual!

Spinach salad with strawberries. Fresh ground peaunt butter on whole wheat bread with nuts in it. Yum.

Half of a breaded pork chop and some roasted acorn squash w/ butter, garlic, brown sugar and ancho chile powder that was left over from dinner last night.

whole wheat tortillas, chopped leftover "pollo adobo," shredded cheese, and trader joe's mexican sauce for "make it at work" quesadillas and half a fresh avocado. plus diet cherry coke.

raisin and walnut bread with havarti cheese, apricot spread, and mixed greens. i LOVE sweet and salty together!

Polish cold cuts, left over from a party platter, on rye bread. An apple from one of the surviving orchards on Long Island, Richter's in East Northport.

Yesterday, it was arugula with slices of poached swordfish and chunks of fetta, dressed with balsamic, olive oil, brown sugar, salt and pepper.

Today I've got a bran banana muffin, 2 bananas, 4 carrots and a toasted multigrain cheese sandwich :P

Fage 2% Total yogurt & an apple

Fuji apple slices, naval orange, turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with fat free mayonnaise, country dijon mustard, and tillamook cheddar cheese.

3 slices TJ's smoked turkey breast with dijon mustard and 1.5 slices of their deli-sliced havarti, 1/2 English cucumber, 1/2 orange pepper, a handful of baby lathed carrots, about 10 kalamata olives, and 2 tablespoons of roasted garlic salsa cream cheese dip from Costco.

crudites: jicama, carrots, red bell pepper, and snow peas. dried apricots and walnuts. freeze dried mango. a minneola tangelo. four cerignola olives. an avocado and jarlsberg cheese sandwich. two chocolate truffles, a gift from my roommate.

leftover beef stew from the other night and a nice happy red apple.

Leftover homemade chili with a square of cornbread. Diced fresh pineapple chunks for dessert.
