How much would you spend to get your favorite meal?

West is just being overindulged by his record label - this is only about $500 a head for his party - hell, he's not even close to being a playa in the expensive meal business.

Most of the foods that I love cost more in time and preparation than they do in dollars. But I'm always willing to splurge a bit on a special ingredient now and then.

I want to clarify that I meant I would spend $20 for a lobster roll (my favorite meal), not that that is the max I would spend in a restaurant!

That's obnoxious. $3,000 so a chef can fly to NYC to make Indian food; even more obnoxious that people paid $30,000 for a meal in Bangkok. I've been to Bangkok a number of times and for great food, all I had to was pay $1 from a street vendor to whip me up a tasty noodle dish. Or about $1.50 for the most amazing Tom Yum soup imaginable. Or head indoors for very fresh Thai vegetarian food at: http://www.maykaidee.com
Who the hell would pay $30,000 for a meal in Bangkok, no matter who the chefs, when scores of street vendors are waiting to give you a delightfully good meal for a buck or two.

I'd spend travel money to get to my favorite meal. That would be lau lau in Hawai'i, or Le Guignol in Honolulu, or this sole in a Portuguese restaurant in Brussels (it was the sauce, really). Had a great burger in a country dive in Alabama (it was in the back of a gas station) once, and the antipasti in a small town in Southern Italy was insanely great (I think the obsession with 30 kinds of antipasta was what drove them out of business). Yep, it's all about the travel money. None of the above foods were expensive.
