Any suggestions for low calorie, healthy toppings for pizza?

I have a great pizza crust recipe, and now I'm looking for something halfway healthy to put on it. I hear that ricotta cheese is good with roasted vegetables. Any suggestions????

Mushrooms. Artichokes. Eggplant. Peppers. Fresh tomato slices.

Thanks.....I'll try this.

hummus and calamata olives.

We make something we've dubbed 'Bruschetta Pizza' which features chopped plum tomatoes, minced garlic, salt, pepper, fresh basil and a little bit of olive oil.

Hungover Gourmet.....That sounds really delicious. Do you also add any cheese????

Pre-cook the crust, cover with ricotta (mixed with lemon zest or fresh herbs) and warm, then add chopped smoked salmon and arugula. Or steamed asparagus. Or maybe add some mint to the ricotta and use peas.

Barbeque it with chicken, feta and pesto sauce. It's incredible.

Mind sharing the crust recipe?

Jbrach......I like Cook's Illustrated pizza dough recipe and also California Pizza Kitchen's cookbook recipe. Actually most pizza dough recipes are pretty much alike, but it is important to use "bread flour" instead of all purpose because of the gluten content.

Purple onion, sliced thinly. When they start to brown, add several glugs of good Port. Continue cooking until soft. Add chopped walnuts. Cover pizza, then put on about 1 cup of baby arugula. Top all with a little parmesan or goat cheese if you have it. Salt & Pepper.

Sounds weird, tastes great.

I just ate the most spectacular dinner at Angelini Osteria in L.A. The pizza came with an ethereal crust, the freshest tomato, arugula and luscious shavings of parmesan. Very light! Keep the ingredients super fresh and the taste will WOW you.

I get a low fat pie from my food delivery service that has tomato sauce, artichokes, olives, red peppers, mushrooms, and a little goat cheese. Great combo.
