Any high-end boxed wine recommendations, and where to find them?

I've heard good things about Target's Wine Cube line (if you can believe that), but they don't sell these in NYC... so I'm looking for any suggestions that I may be able to track down. Thanks!

Check out the most recent Wine Blogging Wenesday round up, which featured wines in non-traditional packaging this time around. Box Wines hosted, and did a very comprehensive round up of all the wines tasted, most of which were box wines.

I would not be too shocked if Target's wines were actually good, as I know their Choxie chocolate is quite tasty. If anyone has not tried it, give it a shot!

Have you seen the Box Wines blog?

I've bought several boxes of Three Thieves Bandit Pinot Grigio form Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco and have, well, finished them all by myself.

Although it comes in what looks like a giant juice box, my co-blogger recently gave a good review to The Three Thieves Bandit Pinot Grigio.

You may find more ideas at the Boxed Wine Spot blog. The Target wines are usually only available at the big "Target Greatland" stores.

I live in Minneapolis...Where TargetĀ® is located...and we cannot get the boxed wines here either. It is due to ridiculously restrictive state laws that prevents anyone other than a liquor store to sell anything above 3:2 Beer. this & the size is what will determine whether or not your local store will carry it.

Fortunately, my partner works in HQ so we are able to get it through a loophole. they have quarterly events where employees are allowed to purchase the boxed wine through a legal distributor.

The line was originally developed in conjunction with Andrea Immer. All varieties are quite good if you are lucky enough to find it.

So...to give my 2 cents: I like red's and specifically shiraz...I buy black box & hardy's, cabernet, merlot, shiraz. I find these to be an outstanding value...they are great to have around as a day to day table wine & for cooking.

they sell only in limited areas, and new york is one of them.
