Question of the Day: Do you have a food-related pet name for your sweetheart?

26 Comments:

Blech. Absolutely not. Well, sometimes I call him 'honey,' but that's as far as it goes.

Funny story. I called my husband "honey" since our dating days. I would often chide him for his lack of a pet name for me. Being the joker that he is, and much to my dismay he finally came up with what he thought was a great pet name......... "Dumplin' Drawers" (there is no reason for this pet name other than to get me to stop wanting a pet name!) Is that not the grossest pet name you ever heard? I have learned to love the sound of my given name coming out of his mouth! (Also, I cannot believe I am actually telling you people this story!)

Just the run-of-the-mill 'honey', like every one else. I have a pet name for my pet dog, however: butter butt. A few weeks ago she got on the dining room table and ate most of a stick of butter. I think the name speaks for itself.

"Honey" works for me. If he called me cupcake or sugar drop or something else, I might have to punch him. (Just kidding, violence doesn't solve anything!)

Heh. I have several for my gf, though I don't think "Girl Slice" quite counts when referring to her on Slice. Offline, she's either "burrito" or "Chito" (like "Cheetos"; her middle name is Chi) or "Chito burrito."

"Pumpkin" a lot of the time - but when I'm feeling particularly romantic, I
sometimes call her my little "Chatham Bay Cod."

Mon petit choux = my little cabbage. Always liked that one.

Nope, but my sister calls her boyfriend "beans" for no particular reason.

Cauliflower Penis.
(Just kidding.)

I call my cat "Monkey Butt", is that a food.. I know monkey brains are. My ex used to call me "Biscuit" because he love my homemade biscuits.

Embarassingly yes--both ways, and for no real apparent reason, and not the obvious ones. That's all I'm gonna say.

My wife and I have been calling each other "Noodles" for the past 4 years. The origin is mysterious.

I call my beautiful niece "baby cake." My sister calls her "chicken." No idea.

She's "My Little Eater."

My ex used to call me "melba toast". At first I hated it, now I like it, though I feel the opposite about my ex. :-)

i have a tendency of calling people 'muffin' ... i called my ex muffin so much that he also called me muffin and we almost never used our real names... hahah

Hmm. I call my cat 'Monkey Butt' too.

Hubby calls me sweet. Bugs the hell out of me because it is always reminding me of something sweet to eat and makes me hungry.

My dog and Alton Brown inspired my guinea pig's name: Mango. Because as AB put it: Ginger and Mango are best friends. And it's true too.

When we were dating, my now-husband used to call me his truffle-finder. Now that I think about it- how was that a complement!?

I have been known, on occasion, to call my current sweetie Snickers.

Sadly, yes-Sweet Potato Pie, Pumpkin Pie sometimes too-pretty much any kind of pie....mmmmm, pie.

I grew up with my Aunt calling me her "little cabbage", too! My fiancee calls me "Peanut" and always in a Southern drawl that does not belong to him.

I get called Mon petit choux fleur :)

"punkin"--but I also call my daughter "squid" (to rhyme with "kid")

No partner but I have a sweetie cat named Creamcheese...

She's my little sweetbread.
