International Tapas

I am a big fan of Spanish tapas, but recently I went to a restaurant in Los Angeles that served tapas from around the world. I was wondering if anyone has fun recipes for tapas?

Penelope Casas' classic book Tapas has just come out with a revised edition. Knopf is the publisher. It's an extraordinary book.

My wife and I had reason to eat at two Jose Andres places here in DC this weekend. He does a lot of Tapas at his places. We had his Latino dim sum on Saturday morning at Cafe Atlantico and it essentialy was New World foods served tapas style for brunch. So if you aren't looking for 'tapas' as Spanish cusine, but looking for small style servings, there are a huge unverse out there.

Since my wife's father's family is from Hong Kong and Dim Sum is one of our things, there are a ton of great small servings in just the Cantonese cuisine. But to give you a recipe, this is my sui mai recipe . I get loads of compliments on it, but there are some beautiful other options out there as well.

i don't have any recipes, but i do have a great restaurant reco. quartino's in chicago serves italian tapas. it's affordable and the food is delicious. if you're ever in town, i highly recommend it.
