Any recommendations on an excellent brunch in Manhattan?

My boyfriend and I are planning to have brunch on the Sunday after Valentine's Day, and I would like to pick some place that will be especially tasty.

I am looking for something moderately priced. I live in the West 50's, but don't mind traveling if it's not too far. Cuisine is not an issue, but nothing too outrageous - the boyfriend isn't keen on crazy food items.

I live a few blocks from Lincoln Center, and have brunch with my roomate every weekend at Le Pain Quotidien at 60 West 65th Street.

We always order a brioche to share and I get my favorite sandwich: the tuna salad with olive tapenade and roasted peppers.

Ouest is excellent (84th/Broadway). It's a little on the pricey side (around $20 if memory serves), but it's creative without losing that sense of comfort that brunch always brings me.

I also like Telepan, 70th/Columbus, though some of my friends didn't. Again it's creative but pricey - somewhere in that $20 range - but I guess I consider it a bargain compared to dinner at those places. If you go to Telepan be sure to get the smoked trout - it's heavenly.

Finally, for cozy traditional brunch food, Rachel's is quite nice. It's reasonably priced, though nothing eye-opening. I believe it's located around 46th and 8th or so.

Since you said you don't mind traveling a bit, there's a lovely place called Deborah on Carmine street. Their food is simple yet satisfying. Their menu is New American/comfort food with a bit of Asian flavor. Some of my favorites on their brunch menu are duck confit and Deborah's shirred eggs. David, the restaurant manager, makes the best bloody mary. It's full of horseradish and comes with pearl onions and olives.
