Slow-Cooker Recommendations?
Hey, Serious Eaters: I'm going to lazyweb this and ask you all ...
I want to purchase a slow-cooker for the Serious Eats office. I have a small Crock Pot at home, but it's the tiniest one they make and insufficient for versatile slow-cooking artistry. Does anyone here have a recommendation as to brand/model? Thanks in advance.

I have a 5qt round and it has Low, High and Serve settings. It holds a tremendous amount of food. It's made by Crock-pot.

i really like ours - the crock is removeable, and it can be used on the stovetop, in the oven, or in the microwave. it's great for sauteeing the onions and garlic, to get great flavor before adding the rest of the ingredients which cook all day. not as many features as the one ackphil recommended, but it works well for us.
