Question of the Day: Sweet or savory?

Or, to put it another way, savory or sweet? Which do you prefer?

Savory. Cheese over chocolate every time.

Savory. Bacon over chocolate every time.

sweet! sometimes i rush through my main meal just to dig into the sweet stuff after. although, the combination of savory and sweet (i.e. chocolate covered pretzels or brie with plum jam) is always preferable. getting the best of both worlds is a true joy ;).

Both! If I eat too many sweets I need some cheese or something salty and vice versa.

I used to always crave sweet, almost never salt. My tastes are sort of in transition now, but I would still say that I lean sweet.

Savory! I almost always skip desert and never eat doughnuts for breakfast (though waffles and pancakes appear on my plate infrequently -- as long as I have some bacon or sausage accompanying).

Savory! I've got a raging salt tooth.

I lack the intenal will power to limit myself to either one. After polishing off a Beard Papa's eclair I think, "Wow, that was sweet. Now I need something salty to cut that!" Then after the french fries have bit the dust I eye the milkshake on the order board. Being wishy-washy is so not sexy.

Savory. Or maybe bacon drizzled with maple syrup. Mmm... *drools*

savory. the reintroduction of bacon into my life killed my sweet tooh forever.

Savory! I am a complete bacon and salami addict. I crave chips over chocolate anyday. But, if you get both sweet and savory together, it is pretty magical.

Not too sweet & not too savory!

sweet, especially chocolate and ice cream

Cake or steak? Unfortunately, cake. It runs in my family.

My name is BreadBox, and I am a carboholic. But I think the savory carbs win out over the sweet most of the time. Given the choice between a piece of chocolate pie or a loaded baked potato, the spud will win every time. I am a diabetic, and I can tell myself smugly that I'm following my diet because I'm limiting my intake of sweets, but we all know that I am just fooling myself.

I am chinese and we often combine the two. Char siu Bao is my favorite!

Which do I prefer? When I crave a "comfort" food, most times I'm thinking savory. Like BreadBox, I have to watch my sugar intake, but savory treats in the pizza/pasta/bread family lessen my "guilt". Yesterday I discovered the joys of popovers. Today, I'm making another batch for arriving weekend guests and I'm asking myself , "strawberry/rhubarb filling or filled with shredded cheese and rising out of the butter drained off last nights carmelized onions". I just might make them both!
