Fudge and home made candies. My grandma (who turned 94 years-old on the 8th) used to spend DAYS cooking up pans of home made fudge, peanut butter fudge, coconut bon bons, seafoam, divinity and candied nuts to give to family and friends. As a kid, I was always so excited to help her out with some of the prep work. Her "beating arm" isn't what it used to be so these rigorous kitchen gifts are a thing of the past, but when I see somebody making a pan of fudge I remember those days with a real fondness.

You're on about Christmas right? In that case. Nuts. Hazlenuts, walnuts, brazils, peanuts, pistachios, cashews etc... along with raisins, a whacking great slab of Stilton, a generous glass or two of Port, a James Bond film and a box of those naff, wee chocolate liquer thingies. Happy Christmas.

Homemade fried dough. Mom makes it for Christmas breakfast every year.

Freshly prepared Sicilian Green Olives. I use a special curing process that has been handed down from my family . This type of curing does not overpower the true olive flavor with salt or vinegar.
