Dark chocolate.
Definitely dark.
Yeah. Chocolate. Dark, bitter, chocolate. At least 75% cocoa solids. 85% is better.

Dark. No question.

Dark anytime. Milk in a pinch. White NEVER!

I kinda like milk chocolate. My favorite new thing to eat is: Ritter Sport Corn Crisps.

I'm starting to appreciate darker chocolates. Recently I made hot chocolate with 60% bittersweet chocolate and added Grand Marnier because my friends are lushes. I thought it tasted fancy and was impressed with myself. But at the movies I'll happily eat a box of Buncha Crunch (Nestle Crunch Bar bits.)

Definitely dark. I love tasting the differences between single-origin chocolate bars. Santander is the best!

Milk. I like my sweets on the sweet rather than on the bitter side.

Definitely dark chocolate...the darker the better. I would agree with Allan on the 75%.

Dark. Wasn't convinced of the deliciousness of dark chocolate until a trip to Antwerp years ago. Currently loving the Scharffen Berger 82% bar. Ritter Sport makes a 70% or so bar as well, which is lovely.

I used to only love Dark Chocolate, but then I discovered Dove milk chocolate and I cannot resist!

Scharfenberger's Milk is the chocolate of choice in our house, although we're usually not huge fans of milk chocolate.

I'm not much of a chocolate fan, so I prefer milk because it's less bitter.
megnut at 5:13PM on 12/07/06
I think if it's high-end, like Valrohna tuffles (surprisingly easy to make since they only have two ingredients, chocolate and cream) then dark. But for regular supermarket chocolate, milk because cheap dark is gross. Like Kit Kat dark is gross, despite Steve Almond's hoarding of it.

the darker the better. milk chocolate is good, but dark chocolate is the real thing.
StormySleep at 6:50PM on 12/07/06
Milk. I know I *should* prefer dark, but I just don't. I've tried and tried. Finally I just said that's it, I'm not going to continue eating something that should be a treat that I simply don't like. Yes, the flavor of dark chocolate is nice and chocolately, and yes, the texture can be nice... but I just prefer milk chocolate over dark chocolate.
All that being said, I won't refuse any Neuhaus dark truffles, so bring 'em on.

For me it depends on the brand. There are darks I like in one brand and not in another, same for milk. When I am baking or making candy it depends on what I am pairing the chocolate with. Dark and Orange is classic. Milk and coconut always.
JerzeeTomato at 11:26PM on 12/07/06
dark. but milk is good too, especially if there are crunchy or crispy bits.
