Need a cooking class for 12 yr. old, serious foodie. Westch./NY
I am looking for a class or course for my 12 yr. old. He's pretty serious about learning, and I don't want to sign him up for a session to "frost and decorate cookies". He wants to chop, saute, season, cook, etc. Westchester, NY area.

Why not just take him to a regualr cooking class? At 12, he should be able to handle anything they throw at any 'beginner' enthusiastic cook.
It is unfortunate that most of the 'cooking with kids' focuses on decorating cookings, baking sweets, etc., instead on teaching kids real skills and appreciation for eating good, healthy foods.

Get a copy of "Kids Cook 1-2-3"; perfect Xmas gift for nascent foodies.

Institute of Culinary Education would be perfect for him. They have a number of teen classes that arent just frosting and cookies. www.iceculinary.com
