Any great Chinese, Thai or Indian in Park Slope? HELP!
I only have been disappointed by the chinese place on 7th, near Garfield and 1st Street and with the Thai upstairs from the Corcoran office and with Lemongrass also on 7th. I tried the Thai on 5th Avenue and was it Union Street or 1st Street? I fotgot the name, sorry, and it was very bland and the normally crunchy Thai spring rolls I taste in Chinatown on Center Street or Bayard Street were awfully soggy and without any meat at all and filled with lifeless old tasteless bean sprouts. Disgusting! So? What gives? Desperate, newly moved to Montgomery Place from Avenue A and 9th Street, a foodies paradise...

The Hunan Delight on 6th & Union is among my favorite Chinese restaurants in the city, especially for Vegeterians. I also like Rice Thai Kitchen on 7th Ave & 8th St.

Finn: For Indian, I like Kinara on Fifth Ave. and 11th Street. I'll second djacobs's pick for Hunan Delight. Uncle Liao (Fifth Ave. around 8th Street) isn't so bad if you know what to order.

Watana, on 7th and 14th or so, was really quite good Thai when it first opened, and since then it has declined but is still comfortably the best, to my knowledge, in Park Slope.

I beg to differ -- my two meals at Kinara have both been very bland. (Sub-Baluchi's.) Red Hot on 7th Ave @ 8th St is also sub-par. After five months in the neighborhood, I've yet to find any of those three worth eating at.

Sub-Baluchi's? Yick. To be fair, Andy Deemer, I ended up getting Kinara the other night and noticed that the tikka masala was fairly bland. I had been on a vindaloo kick for a while -- maybe the subpar flavor was why I started.
