Out of Towners
My parents are coming into NYC to visit and I'd like to take them to some place that's an "only in NY" kind of place. Great food, and maybe an unusual kind of atmosphere? The kind of place that you wouldn't find in other cities or the suburbs. I like to kind of freak them out when they come to town ;)

only in ny, huh, Carrie. You could take them to Balthazar, which is ny by way of france, or morimoto, which is hip and over the top cool and has damn good food. you could take them to peter luger's in brooklyn for that only in ny gruff ny steakhouse experience.
