What is so special about NC BBQ and where should I go?
I'm going to North Carolina soon and friends say try the BBQ - its different from anywhere else. What is so special about NC BBQ and where should I go? I am near the mountains - Asheville area.

That's in the western part of the state, which means you'll be getting pork shoulder and a tomato-based sauce. Skylight Barbecue in Ayden is great. I don't know if it's near Asheville. I'm going to check my North Carolina Barbecue books for you.
