Ed, I'm going to BLT Fish tonight (downstairs). What do you recommend and what should I stay away from? A lobster roll is possibly my favorite food in the world but I hear BLT's is pretty skimpy. Thanks.

Jeff, I am not a big fan of BLT Fish downstairs. If I remember, I liked the grilled tuna sandwich. The lobster roll is a skip (at least when I went). And the fried seafood wasn't much better. This was almost a year ago, so maybe the food is improved.
Sure you don't want to go to Pearl or Mary's Fish Camp instead?

Yeah, I probably would've chose those places too, but another couple was picking the place. I'd give it a 5 and 1/2. I had the soft-shell crab sandwich which was very good and the cold seafood platter was a good appetizer and a good portion. (The scallops were standout.) The rest of the table seemed underwhelmed with their entrees. I thought it was tremendously overpriced and the service was bizarre. Incredibly odd waitress, coupled with the fact that it seemed like a contest over which table could be rushed out of the restaurant the fastest. I understand table turnover but this was uncomfortable. (I'd heard about this from a lot of the posts on menupages and citysearch.) We actually would have all ordered dessert but we just went around the corner to a Cosi so the 6 of us could have a conversation in peace. The fact that at a table of seafood lovers (and none of us cheap ones either) nobody could bring themselves to order a $30 lobster roll without losing respect for themselves says plenty about BLT Fish Shack.
