Ed, do you watch Top Chef?

Ed, do you watch Top Chef? And if you do, what are your thoughts? Which chef's food are you most excited about enjoying someday?

Thanks.

Jeff, I'm embarrassed to say that I've never watched Top Chef. I did meet one of the contestants last night when I went to Craftsteak, the newest restaurant of Top Chef host Tom Colicchio. Is it worth watching? I hear that Billy Joel's wife is terrible. I know and like Gail Simmons, one of the judges.

The show is great. Tom comes across very impressively and the chef's (especially the final 4 - and particularly Harold from The Harrison) are damn good. It really doesn't smack of "reality tv" and it's very much about the food and the craft (no pun intended.) Billy Joel's wife not only brings nothing to the table, she takes plenty off of it. She's painful to watch. You, of all people, would love the show because many of the challenges require the chefs to reinterpret/rework/create sandwiches, snacks, hotdogs, etc... Keep your eye out for Harold, he'll probably win and you can tell how impressed Tom is with him. He's gonna be a big name in New York soon.
