Ed,
Ed,
Thanks for the Bond45 recommendation as a pre-theatre dining spot. I agree with you that the mozzarella bar and the Antipasti bar are especially delicious. The noise level is a bit high, so sitting near the front door, where the ceiling is high, is key.

when bond45 first opened, it was excellent; although the prices were, & are still quite high - what else is new?? i must be the ONLY diner left in Manhattan who thinks $20 pasta, $15 hamburgers, $12 green salads, $6 budweisers are incredibly overpriced, regardless of real estate. and although i have eaten in the finest restaurants "tout de monde", i now find i can no longer pay the prices for food that is either average or slightly above average. that said, bond45 used to have the best spaghetti carbonara in manhattan, & amazingly took it off the menu, same for several other items. We no longer go - too many tourists, prices are ridiculous, average service, & the noise level is numbing. how DO these places stay in business??? it must be all those who don't mind getting ripped off among the mid-westerners?? the owners have found the formula to make as much as possible, i just can't figure out WHY we support their greed????????
