My Pie Monday: 'Mootzaleppo', BBQ Brisket, Dutch Oven Pizza and More!

Happy very eclectic My Pie Monday! No two pizzas are alike in this 15 pie roundup. From newcomer AMLewis' Dutch oven cooked pie to the Daily Slice-inspired "Mootzaleppo" by Imwalkin, you Slice'rs are demonstrating some serious diversity and creativity—but no surprise there. Norma and Ev spent some time firing pizzas in Ev's wood fired oven and were met with what looks like great success. Atmast has been saving up some sous vide Corned Beef that she used on her Irish pie, whereas Bierebeer opted to go the barbecue brisket route. There's a Rosa a la Chris Bianco from Burger365, and a hazelnut and date pizza from Redwgn67. Tupper Cooks! finally got to try out cheese curd as a topping, and Tscarborough submits his all-time favorite jalapeño and pepperoni topped pie. There's some mushroom pie advice from TXCraig1 and amusebouche1 revisited the southern inspired tomato pie. There's also a tomato and garlic pie from BHkitchen, a smoky mozzarella and broccoli rabbi by maxcriden, and a whole slew of pizzas from forzapizza. More

My Pie Monday: BBQ Chicken, Clam Bake, Lump Crabmeat and More!

If you're looking to work up an appetite for Thanksgiving, then this My Pie Monday should do the trick. Billgraney took the barbecue sauce plunge with his first ever chicken bbq pizza, Amusebouche1 created a clam bake pie combining clams, corn, and bacon, and Tscarborough topped his thin crust pie off with lump crabmeat, scallions, pepper, and mushrooms. Along the more traditional track Norma created a classic New York-style pie, TXCraig1 fired a Margherita with sausage, and Scott D made a modified his Margherita with tomato and garlic, cooking it in just 70 seconds. That has to be some kind of record, right? More

My Pie Monday: Hot Dogs, Pulled Pork, Duck Confit, and More!

Happy My Pie Monday, Slice'rs. We entered fall over the weekend, and if this round of pies is any indication of what autumnal toppings mean to you, this is about to become my new favorite pizza topping season. This is what I mean: Billgraney topped his pie with duck confit and creme fraiche; Olsonmatt piled on some pulled pork; and Amusebouche1 combined the many delicious flavors of the Iberian Peninsula onto his pizza. And how about the hot dog, pickles, and onions on dellavecchia's pie?! In the words of Tupper Cooks!, "I'd do it!" That goes just as well for the improvisational stylings of jimmyg's "pizza fail" and Tscarborough's refrigerator door (aka "pizza in a can") creation. And who wouldn't "do" TXCraig1's Margherita or a Mellow Mushroom replica á la Norma427? Even a non-pepper eater would be tempted by Ev's wood-fired pizza or dmcavanagh's Sicilian with sausage. My Pie Monday: Mango Chicken, White Sicilian, Confit Ramps with Morels, and More!

There are some fine looking pies in the My Pie Monday gallery today. In the Margherita class we have a traditional rendition via Damian, a pepperoni topped pie from JeanB, and Ev takes his the Italian Sausage route. ESNY1077 has a mini skillet Sicilian in white, jamesws creates an allium trio with morels, Billgraney goes the bell pepper trio route, there's a veggie bbq pie from James S., shrimp and onions top Tscarborough's pie, and Amusebouche1 finds inspiration at Trader Joe's. Experimenting with an 11-day cold ferment yields some satisfying results for Norma427, and Jimmyg learns a thing or two about Pillsbury flour. More

It's My Pie Monday time! There may have been a little Memorial Day weekend email hiccup (apologies), but all pies missing from last week's post are corralled here. And there are some spicy ones in the mix. Today's gallery of pies include peppers of the homemade, pickled variety from jamesws, an extra spicy cheese sauce on ardubs81's breakfast pizza , and joebeone's spicy sopressata pizza gets some additional heat from sliced jalapeños. Sweet peppers make an appearance on square_pie's sausage, mushroom creation, Jimmyg exhibits his freestyle success, Dneblank tops his no-knead dough with clams, and Dhorst brings more fruits de mer on the scene with her Longbow's Lobster Pizza. In addition, Norma427 tests out a new dough mix, ForzaPizza has pictures from the season's first oven firing, and Tscarborough walks the line Provencal with Luque olives, capers, and blue cheese. There is no shortage of inspiration in today's My Pie Monday. Norma427 experimented with Triple Berry Muffin mix, jamesschulman went the Lahey No-Knead route, jimmyg and Gregg took beer from pizza companion to crust's combining agent, and amusebouche1 united pizza, hoisin, and five-spice powder seasoned duck. Tscarborough's herbaceous proscuitto and cherry tomato pie evidenced home oven mastery, Ev made a white garlic alfredo, and T Alm created a vegan version of Kenji's NY style pizza. After seeing last week's Micucci's review radish was inspired to make the "Sicilian slab" her first MPM submission, and tell me it doesn't rival the original! More

We've got kng31's gorgeous Nearly-Politan pizza, a spicy Canadian bacon and pineapple pie from Jean B, and an awesome deep-dish pie cooked in a skillet from Dirk of the North. Wow. This week's batch of My Pie Monday entries is full of traditionally awesome and awesomely nontraditional pizzas. Arugula seems to be on the brain — maybe it's a way to wish spring into being — and we see it on Alberto's, Scott D.'s, and BillCBP's pies. Some great mushroom pizzas in the bunch too, which brings to mind foraging in the woods, which is what I think Jamesws did for the fungi on his pie. And then there's Norma with deep-fried pizza and Girl Loves Pizza with a chimichanga pie.
