Need to use up my stash of vanilla beans
In the past month I have received three separate gifts of vanilla beans from vacationing friends/family (Indian, Mexican and Tahitian). What should I do with this sudden windfall of vanilla beans (that doesn't involve creme brulee, ice cream, vanilla-infused sugar, or home made vanilla extract)? Any recipes that particulary utilize this ingredient well? Thanks!
Vanilla Question
I noticed in the "What won't you skimp on" question that a couple of people mentioned vanilla...but not in the form of extract...they mentioned beans or paste. I do buy beans & make my own extract, but I've never used the beans straight in baking. For those that do, how do you do that, just use the inner bean in place of the extract straight?

What to do with two vanilla beans?
Coming back from vacation in Mexico, my mother has brought me two vanilla beans. Not traditionally a purchaser of these I cannot decide how I want to use them. Ice-cream certainly comes to mind, but I do not have an ice-cream make. I will not buy one either as I know I will abuse it by making ice-cream too often... he he. Anyhow, how would you use these vanilla bean if you were I?
