What SMELLS better than it tastes?

This is a natural spin-off of the looks better than it tastes question. I actually really, really love the smell of mushrooms frying but I absolutely cannot stomach the texture. What gets your mouth watering that you just can't eat?

Are you sucked into buying a bakery pastry or deli prepared entree/sandwich because it looks "perfectly" delicious? Then with one bite, sheer disappointment...I encounter this with those gorgeous looking blueberry muffins or individual slices of carrot layer cake calling my name! What food as successfully deceived you?

We hear, see, touch, smell & taste everyday in our food experiences. We hear the sizzle of bacon frying, see that perfect ripe peach at the farmer's market, our hands shape yeast dough into dinner rolls, smell the morning coffee brewing & enjoy the tart taste of lemon sorbet.
