The other kid's parents allowed cooler food....
Ellen over on the super Slashfood site had this post...thought it would be a great "talk" discussion here on SE. Were the food aromas different from what your family usually ate? Would you hang-out long enough to get invited to eat dinner? What food products did the other kids' kitchens have that made you green with envy?
What food reminds you of being a kid again?
Like Anton Ego taking his first bite of ratatouille, is there a food that immediately transports you back to your childhood? How often do you have this food now?
Mom wasn't much of a baker, so chocolate frosting spread on graham crackers was a prized treat. Another is drinking warm evaporated milk straight out of the can. Even today, I confess to occasionally indulging in both!
Question of the Day: What's your earliest food-related memory?
I particularly remember being fed Chinese takeaway beef with broccoli by my father, and also eating tinned fruit cocktail with maraschino cherries at preschool. In both of these memories, I must have been about two and a half years old (for timeframe, think late '70s).
