canning supplies available in NYC?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a place to get canning and preserving supplies in NYC in bulk. Basically the CSA that I belong to is interested in running a demo for the members. Even though buying in bulk lowers the price, buying online almost doubles the price of the jars b/c they're glass! So if I could find a place that's local (and could even possibly deliver locally, to brooklyn) I think it would save us a bundle in shipping charges.

I made 15 jars of apple butter, and none of the jars sealed. I had hot, sterile jars and hot butter, standing at room temp. when I was done. Now, I am trying to save my butter using the boiling-water method. I think I forgot to tighten the rings on the jare the 1st time. Now, the rings ore tight. Any suggestions as what went wrong, and am I on the right track to save my work?

Calling all canners!

With a recent batch (ok, four batches) of apple butter under my belt, I do believe I've caught the canning bug. I'd like to get one more batch of something preserved, but I'm not really in the mood for a weekend of trial and error. So, other canners, what are your tried and true canning recipes? Specifically, I'm looking for a seasonal jam (like cranberry, maybe), but let's hear what you've got!
