Help with Trader Joe's Pizza Dough
Hi all... I got some TJ's pizza dough (the one with the herbs in it), and was wondering if anyone has used it before and had any tips. The package says the temperature and time at which to bake it, but are these directions good? Should I prebake the crust a bit?
Also, I have never really made pizza before - I plan on topping it with a quick tomato sauce with lemon zest, fresh mozzarella, and some thinly sliced crimini, caramelized shallots, zucchini, thinly sliced garlic, and possibly some arugula. Should I cook the veggies beforehand (obviously the shallots I will have to, in order to caramelize, but the other ones)?

What are your favorite products from Trader Joe's?
Hi all-- I'm a newbie with TJs and believe that I have fallen head over heels in love. (The BF would be jealous but TJ treats us all equally.) I was curious about products that you dig. Mine are as follows:
(1) Sunflower seed butter-- I CANNOT say enough about this, so I won't try. Only try it if you'd like to be momentarily transported to heaven.
(2) Lemon curd-- particularly on their...
(3) Crumpets (cinnamon kind)
(4) Raw almonds (great deal on the 1 lb bag)
(5) The various trail mixes-- the sweet and savory kind are amazing
Trader Joe's Torture: What one thing do you have to buy?
Along the lines of the mixed nuts question . . . .
You are at Trader Joe's. You are surrounded by gourmet items at bargain bin prices. And you can only buy one thing. What would it be?
For me? Probably the goat yogurt (I can get affordable Greek yogurt closer to home, if need be. No way on the goat yogurt.)

Great Trader Joe's Story
I wanted to share a feel good story about everyone's favorite store, Trader Joe's. Last week, my 80 year old Grandmother went to Trader Joe's to get her weekly groceries. When she got to the checkout line and tried to pay for her food, ($80 approx.) her credit card went on the fritz! So, the cashier called over the manager and he pulled out his personal credit card and paid for her groceries with the promise " next time you come in, you can pay me back." Now I know why at our local Trader Joe's everyone is always smiling and happy. Has anyone else had this level of customer service at Trader Joe's or anywhere else for that matter?
Trader Joes = Disneyworld. Only better.
I bought gifts, of course, but after realizing that everything there is cheaper than at my local grocery stores, I also bought:
squash
mushrooms
goat yogurt (two pounds for four dollars! my local co-op sells 6 oz. cups for $2.00!)
0% Greek yogurt
dried mushrooms
white balsamic vinegar
dried persimmons
I would've done more damage, but I simply couldn't carry anymore (I was shopping in Georgetown, D.C. - I live three hours away).
True Confessions of a Trader Joe's Virgin
I FINALLY got to visit a Trader Joe's store this past Wednesday. I couldn't buy anything cold because I was on a business trip and HAD NO COOLER. Damn the luck.
Here's what I bought. I had to control myself:
Two flavors of scones: cinnamon chip and harvest cranberry
Two strawberry fruit leathers
One jar of capers
One small Toblerone bar- for my son

trader joe's reserve section at the wine store?
just got back from the wine shop at trader joe's--can anyone recommend any of the good ultra-cheap trader joe reserve section/label wines? i still can't seem to be able to get over my wine snob hurdle and buy a bottle of wine for under $7!! not a big fan of the several charles shaw bottles i've sampled either..
Favorite Trader Joe's items?
Most people I know rave about Trader Joe's. It's been hit or miss with me (but mostly hits). I'm curious to know what items people love most.
