Long weekend in New Orleans...

Hi all

My husband and I are planning a long weekend trip to New Orleans for our 1 year anniversary and I was looking for some advice.

I know we need to go to Willie Mae's and Cochon but anybody got some other good places for us?

Also, will we need a car to hit all the spots we want to?

Thanks for any advice! It's the first time to NOLA for both of us.

New Orleans restaurants

I will be going to New Orleans next week. I have not been there in over 20 years. Yes, I know about Brennans, Windsor Court, K-Pauls, and all the old established ones. Has anyone been there recently and, if so, do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

Middendorf's in Pass Manchac

If you are traveling from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, take a turn off I-10 to I-55 to go 15 miles to Middendorf's for their thin fried catfish. It is about 1/4-inch thick, wonderfully seasoned with a combo cornmeal/flour seasoned breading and it's out of this world dipped in tartar sauce. Thanks to the tip from this site. Catherine

Road food between New Orleans and Baton Rouge

I'm flying into New Orleans the first week of October and driving to Baton Rouge. Does anyone know of any regional road food stops along the way?

Where to eat in New Orleans?

I'll be spending 5 days/4 nights in New Orleans in May. Where should I go to eat? I really want to maximize every meal opportunity. Where do the locals go? I've never had crawfish, and I love boudin! I don't want to miss anything special.
