According to Cabel Maxfield Sasser: At this cafe, you get what the person before you ordered. The next person gets what you ordered. Sounds like a fun social experiment, and, indeed, the point of the cafe seems to have been to introduce surprise into an ordinary day and to encourage strangers to interact with one another. My days of dreaming about a place where I can eat bunny-shaped foods and then cuddle with a bunch of bunnies are over. This place exists! ...In Japan! At this rabbit cafe, customers can eat plates of curry topped with bunny-shaped rice blocks and then go to a separate room of frolicking fluffy bunnies that you can pet and cuddle until your heart implodes with cuteness. Tokyo Damage Report documents some examples of excessive or atypical packaging for single-serving products in Japan. I don’t know why we’ve never blogged about this video series before. You'd think Robyn would have been all over this—it's Japanese, it's cute, and it involves animals. And before you go there, it's about cooking along with a dog. A dog named Francis, who, as a friend pointed out, makes surprisingly sophisticated recipes. I mean, Cooking with Dog could easily have gone into superkitsch territory, in which the food was secondary to the talking-dog shtick. But, it doesn't. Probably because it’s from Japan and because the dog, a poodle, is of French origin. And, as you know, both cultures take their food very seriously.
