Grill 21 says it serves Asian American fusion in Gramercy. In reality this tiny, no frills spot specializes in Filipino food, and its location, on East 21st Street between First and Second Avenues, doesn't quite qualify as Gramercy. But it does make for comfortable eating, with some dishes familiar, some pleasantly new. More

New Juice Program at Maialino, NYC

Jonah Miller and fellow sous chef Jason Pfeifer, who assisted with Noma's juice program during his stage in Copenhagen, have been experimenting with fruit and veggie combos. With so much juice fervor in the air these days, they saw an opportunity to do it really well at Maialino. Three "seed to stem" juices are available on the weekday breakfast menu for now. More

Breakfast at Piccolo Cafe

Piccolo Cafe has two locations in Manhattan (and a third on the way), both of which are designed with reclaimed materials to emphasize a focus on sustainable, local products. The owners were coffee roasters in Italy and the menu reflects their origin; truffles panini, prochiutto and mozzarella di bufala omelettes, and housemade gnocchi.
