After a long, bitter winter (Wall-style, minus Hodor for company), the Game of Thrones season premiere is finally upon us (Sunday at 9 p.m. EST on HBO). And there will be blood! (Probably.) Before taking the deep dive back into Westeros, you must have strength. And that means fortifying yourself with a Throne-themed meal that's...dare we say...fit for a king?

Grab a horn of ale and call your bannermen! During the Season Three premiere, you'll want to play the Drinking Game of Thrones. Take 1 sip for every time there's a "squelch" sound of a sword cutting through somebody. You'll know it when you hear it.
I've mostly been successful at keeping my Game of Thrones geekery separate from Slice. It is known. But when Hawk Krall sent this photo over, I figured, seven hells, let two worlds collide! Behold, four pizzas, each a different sigil of the houses Lannister, Stark, Targaryen, and Baratheon.
We recently told you about a food blog devoted to cooking recipes from George R.R. Martin's fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire. An SE reader pointed us to yet another one, Inn At the Crossroads, apparently the first blog to set out to cook dishes from the series. There's well over 100 recipes on the site so far (most recently, baked venison and simple Dornish fare) with corresponding passages from the books and photos of the prepared dishes. Both are worth checking out, especially if you find yourself thinking, "man, I could really go for some Westerosi cuisine right now."
