[hu2.com] Hu2 Design creates stickers that can be applied to walls, windows, furniture, or any other flat surface around the house. In the kitchen department, they've got some neato images of a corkscrew, plants, a fly swatter, and fridge contents. As a wee lass, I spent way too much money on stickers. [Moco Loco] The Clutch Light by Scottish designer Scott Jarvie is made of hundreds of colorful drinking straws bundled together, based on the structural composition of trees. The resulting pattern looks pretty cool, or better put by Jarvie on his website: "The reflective inner surface of the straw transmits the light in a directional manner creating a jewelesque effect." Nothing wrong with that sort of label, of course—but it's not that interesting. Weburbanist shows the versatility of wine labels with their feature of 61 creative wine labels, from traditional to typography-centric to pop art. The August 2009 issue of the graphic-design trade magazine Print is dedicated to food. The magazine has done several themed issues throughout its history, but this is the first to deal primarily with the design culture of food. Stories in the issue include a look at packaging that has never changed (hello, Happy Boy!), an inside look at food photographers and food styling, and a photo essay on designers cooking (with the designers' recipes—including Serious Eats fave Swissmiss—to appear on the Print website in the next week or so, I'm told). I don't like beer, but I'd want a bottle of Mad Manatee beer from the Jacksonville, Florida-based Bold City Brewery just for the awesome label. Global Street Food, an exhibition curated by Mike Meiré, features the accoutrements of various "improvised kitchens" from around the world, like this coffee cart from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Set up as works of art in a gallery, they're almost indistinguishable from sculptures like Marcel Duchamp's readymades—especially "Grill," from Kampala, Uganda (third photo). The exhibit is on display until July 12 at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, Germany. [via Kottke]...

For those of you who care about such things, The Dieline reports that Target will be selling limited-edition Oreo cookies and Ritz crackers in retro-ish packaging this summer. My advice? Don't open them, wait 20 years, and sell them on whatever auction site exists in the future—at that point, I'm sure, Target will be selling retro-2009 Oreos....
