I'm going to go ahead and declare the Muffuletta the King of sandwiches. The New Orleans classic is made with layers of cold cuts and provolone cheese on a sesame seed-studded muffuletta loaf, dressed with a punchy olive salad. Typically, it gets wrapped in plastic and is allowed to rest for at least an hour or so to let the bread soak up some of the oil and vinegar from the salad.
