Kim Sunée was abandoned on the street by her mother in South Korea. She was adopted by a family in New Orleans, graduates from college and ends up falling in love with a famous, successful French businessman while visiting Europe after graduating from college. The writing is graceful if overwrought at times, but her story is alternately heartbreaking and harrowing and the recipes that follow each chapter are appealing and refreshingly off-center.
