Video: 'The Colbert Report' on a Colorado Woman's Peeps Eviction Trial

Erin Zimmer 3 comments

Can't a woman love her Peeps? So much that she constructs a pyramid of them (accented with plastic grass) and tacks this masterpiece onto her door for all her apartment hallmates to enjoy? Apparently not. Carol Burdick of Boulder, Colorado, was evicted from her home last year for keeping her Peeps decor up two weeks after the holiday. On last night's episode of The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert covered what has now turned into an eviction case against the Denver-based building management corporation AIMCO. Yes, all this over Peeps. Watch the clip. More

Crispycones appeared on the October 15, 2009, Colbert Report. Stephen gives it both a Tip of the Hat and a Wag of the Finger for being too easy to eat. The cone-shaped treat solves an age-old problem—namely the difficultly inherent in eating a slice of pizza. And, hah! The Crispycones website has embedded the Colbert video. Video and Recipe: The Colbert Bump, Stephen Colbert's Signature Cocktail

Serious Eats Adam Kuban 3 comments

After sipping a daiquiri and some rye whiskey, Colbert, true to megalomaniacal form, had Wondrich create a signature cocktail for him. Called The Colbert Bump,* it's based on cherry bounce, a cordial that both Wondrich and Eric Felten of the Wall Street Journal say George Washington used to drink. More

In Videos: Michael Pollan on 'The Colbert Report'

Michael Pollan, author of In Defense of Food, was on The Colbert Report last night. Colbert welcomed him with Sierra Mist soda, which definitely doesn't make Pollan's five-ingredients-or-less rule for virtuous foods. But Pollan politely took a sip and argued that he can still be American while avoiding American cheese (and other synthetic foods). For example, he encourages all parents to go the breast milk route, except we learn, thanks to a Mrs. Pollan in the audience, that he was not breast fed himself! Scandal. The interview, after the jump.... More
