Says Ted Allen: "We’re going back into production ASAP, and we’re bringing on new blood to smooth over the bumps that some of you were kind enough to point out (ahem) in season one. The 'New York Times' Is Not a Fan of Ted Allen's New Food Network Show

The New York Times is unimpressed with Ted Allen's new Food Network show, Food Detectives, with unkind words for the "owlish" and "oddly peripheral" Top Chef judge: "You can call it the Ted Allen Rule: the best qualification for being a reality host or judge is having been a reality host or judge." I loved the first season, most of which I saw in a marathon before the finale, and tuned out the second, but I think I might actually watch this one through! Big changes: The show is now located in Miami and set at the beachfront Fontainebleau Hotel, which I'm guessing means we're going to be seeing fresh fruit, seafood, Latin influences, and bikinis galore. Padma fans, please shut your mouths and stop drooling all over your keyboards in anticipation—it's very unattractive. Also Ted Allen of Queer Eye fame is joining the show as a judge. Either...
