Tattooed Pizzamaker Appears in Opening Credits of 'Saturday Night Live'

Slice Adam Kuban 11 comments

Reaching in to the Slice mailbag, we've got ... a really eagle-eyed pizza nerd out there. ;)

Dear Slice, Letters from Slice'rsAdam,
This is probably high on the pizza nerd scale, but I'd love to see if you can confirm this: Go to Hulu and watch the full episode of the Scarlett Johannsen SNL. At exactly 7:34 in the program, our favorite former East Village pizzaiolo's arm/oven makes a special appearance (in the credits). Right?

Wishing I was in San Fran,
Isaac G.

Video: Guy Fieri's Thanksgiving Tips on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update

Robyn Lee 10 comments

It ain't a Guy Fieri Thanksgiving if your dishes aren't infused with alcohol. All of your dishes. Take your Thanksgiving dinner full throttle with these tips from the Food Network star (played by Bobby Moynihan). You'll be making pancake-chunk stuffing, Rumple Minze-infused cranberry sauce, and turduckenrapigcowcowhorsenishgamehen in no time. More

Video: Timecrowave Infomercial on SNL

Robyn Lee 4 comments

The most recent episode of Saturday Night Live featured the Timecrowave, the only microwave equipped with time travel capabilities. Just pop in the dish of your choice and send it back in time to the exact moment you wanted to eat it. If you don't do it correctly you might cause small (or big) changes in history, but it's totally worth it for a meal heated by the power of time travel. Maybe. More

Video: 'Carter 'N Sons BBQ' on SNL

Swine flu will make you sick, but swine fever will just make you crave Carter 'N Sons pulled pork. Don't confuse them: swine flu = BAD; swine fever = NOT A DISEASE, just an unfortunate name for a now confusing ad campaign. Watch the video after the jump.... More

Video: 'Vincent Price's Thanksgiving Special 1958' on SNL

An instant classic from Season 31 of Saturday Night Live (2005–2006). Bill Hader as Vincent Price, hosting a Thanksgiving special that, naturally, would work better as a Halloween special. Worth watching again, if you've seen it. Video, after the jump.... More

Video: SNL Digital Short, 'On the Ground'

When someone hands you a free sample of an energy drink, don't take that poison; throw it on the ground. And when a street vendor gives you a free hot dog, don't be his charity case; throw it on the ground. Andy Samberg throws a lot of edible things on the ground while rapping about it in this Saturday Night Live short. Watch the video after the jump.... More

Video: 'Saturday Night Live' Jeno's Pizza Rolls Commercial Sketch

Slice Adam Kuban 2 comments

Saturday Night Live finally made the video available for "I Am Your Mother," the Jeno's Pizza Rolls commercial skit that aired on the April 11 episode. It stars Zac Efron, Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis, and Fred Armisen, and its premise is that they're all shooting a commercial for the pizza snack. Like a lot of SNL sketches, it goes on a bit too long, but Armisen is amusing as a mom cooking up an after-school snack for her kids who just can't follow the director's coaching. Funny enough, this isn't the first time that the idea of a Jeno's... More

Saturday Night Live's Parody of 'Whopper Virgins'

Last weekend, Saturday Night Live spoofed Burgin King's Whopper Virgins documentary with this short, somewhat awkward sketch. Watch the video after the jump.... More

In Videos: SNL Digital Short, 'Cookies'

I'm probably a sucker for continuing to watch Saturday Night Live after the election (it's returned to its usual lackluster self), but sometimes a skit or two does right. Like this SNL Digital Short. Guest host Hugh Laurie announces layoffs at a company meeting, but Fred Armisen only cares about scarfing up the cookies in the middle of the table. The skit was amusing enough watching Armisen crawl across the table and say crazy things ("I wish I could stop. Someone should put the security guards on cookie patrol"), but you'll explode with laughter about 20 seconds from the end. Video, after the jump.... More

In Videos: Jon Hamm on SNL With John Ham

This past weekend, Saturday Night Live was all about the John McCain appearance (and had very few food references), but we forgot to tell you about the weekend before, with Mad Men actor Jon Hamm promoting an innovative product. Jon Hamm's name conveniently lends itself to some toilet humor wordplay: Ham that belongs in a bathroom stall? Near the sink, you'll find a nice garnish for the perforated squares of pink meat: mustard soap (which contains no real soap). Watch the video after the jump. And does your name also carry homonyms for a weird food product?... More

In Videos: Michael Phelps' 12,000 Calorie Diet on 'Saturday Night Live'

Erin Zimmer 5 comments

Are you tired of diets that actually involve eating less and exercising? Want to replace the flavored water and grapefruit regimen with 12,000 calories a day? That would be a pound of pasta, an actual pig in a blanket, a barrel of Halloween candy, and a pitcher of Hollandaise sauce—just for one meal! Jared Fogle, of Subway diet fame, makes a cameo in this SNL sketch from the weekend, but does not approve. He seems to think results will yield a blubbery belly instead of rock-hard Olympian gold medalist abs. Video, after the jump.... More

In Videos: Bernie Mac Flaunts Hot Sauce Carry Purse on SNL

Erin Zimmer 4 comments

Before you leave the house for any party, you do the routine check: keys, wallet, phone, mints. Now you can add hot sauce carry purse to that list. Because what if they hand you a burger and don't have bottles of tongue-burning, chili pepper-laden condiments waiting? "They ain't got no hot sauce! I told you we should have called first...C'mon woman, get in the car, we got to go!" Bernie Mac, who died Saturday morning of pneumonia, was freaking out in this SNL sketch until his lady whipped out her sweet Tabasco accessory, where each compartment is insulated and calibrated for maximum hot sauce freshness. Bernie even had something for guys who didn't want to schlep around a girly... More

In Videos: 'Saturday Night Live': Steve Carell Monologue on Drinking Six Red Bulls

Raphael 1 comment

Last night's Saturday Night Live featured Steve Carell doing a funny monologue about having drank too many Red Bulls: You know, the most amazing part of SNL is the schedule. You're putting in 18-hour days - by the end of the week, you're exhausted, and you have to count on your adrenaline to kick in. But what if it doesn't? Now that's why, as a precautionary measure, I drank six Red Bulls. Now, I never had one before, so I hope that's enough. And I also ate a bunch of Sour Patch Kids... Video after the jump.... More

In Videos: Satuday Night Live: John Belushi in 'Little Chocolate Donuts'

Now I know why I never excelled at sports in gym class—I didn't eat Little Chocolate Donuts for breakfast. John Belushi did and he became a decathalon champion. It had nothing to do with training or inherent physical skill. It was all about the donuts. Watch this classic Saturday Night Live clip, after the jump.... More
