Mixed Review: Jell-O Instant Pudding

"Both versions were much better than any prepared pudding I've eaten." One night when I was about seven years old, I broke out in an inexplicable rash. As I sat soaking my itchy skin in the tub, my mother made me go over—in painstaking detail—everything I had eaten that day, from the bowl of Cherrios for breakfast to the bologna and cheese sandwich for lunch. The only thing even remotely out of the ordinary I had that day was chocolate pudding, which my mother had prepared as a special treat. Please, I remember thinking, don't let me be allergic to chocolate pudding. We never did figure out what caused that mild rash but I'm happy to report that it wasn't...

Photo of the Day: Portrait of Bill Cosby Made of Jell-O Shots

Artist Andrew Salomone made a portrait of former Jell-O spokesman Bill Cosby out of an appropriate medium: Jell-O shots. The configuration of approximately 1,000 cups of Jell-O was unveiled last Sunday at Buoy Gallery in Kittery, Maine. There's an accompanying video of the portrait's transformation over the course of the night. (I assume most of it was consumed by the end.) Mixed Review: Jell-O No Bake Strawberry Cheesecake

Is it possible, I mean really possible, to make a cheesecake in just 15 minutes of active prep time? How about one with a graham cracker crust and a strawberry glaze? That's what the Jell-O No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake Mix promises, right there on the front of the box. I took it on, like a Top Chef Quick Fire Challenge, for this week's Mixed Review. 7:20pm: I open the box. There are three pouches inside, one filled with graham cracker crumbs, one filled with a mysterious cheesecake powder, and one filled with the strawberry topping. A quick glance at the instructions reveals that the first step is to mix the graham cracker crumbs with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 5 tablespoons...

Halloween Jell-O Molds

Photographs from Halloween Mart and Fire Box I came across this brain Jello-O mold while searching for decorations for my Halloween party. It's pretty creepy looking, and I'm not sure I would eat it, but I bet it make a great centerpiece. If a human brain isn't your thing, consider a zombie brain, an anatomical heart, or a hand. This Is What the Internet Was Made For: Jello Time

Turn up your speaker volume and let the virtual Jello-poking fun begin: it's Jello Time! Mouse over the shiny red mass and you will be rewarded with realistic hypnotic wigglings. It's quite captivating. Almost disturbingly so. Kraft Launches New Lazy People Food

No need to lift a finger for the spoon drawer anymore when Cool Whip cravings hit. Kraft will soon package the puffy white garnish in an aerosol can, much like other air-infused whipped cream cousins. Just squeeze and shoot. This is part of Kraft's new line of eighty re-packaged products, specifically catering to the most sloth-like of eaters. Yes, Uncrustables were just the beginning. We recently told you about the Bagel-ful, which eliminates the hassle of cream cheese spreading, but there's more. Goldfish Mac N' Cheese crackers are shaped like macaroni noodles. Chew them up and it's as if you spent a few minutes boiling water and stirring in powdered cheese to make one of the already-easiest-to-make foods. Pudding doesn't...

Photo of the Day: Rainbow Jell-O

While jiggling cubes of Jell-O don't usually catch my attention or make my mouth water, the rainbow Jell-O from Do Better triggered the part of my brain that squeals, "Ooh, pretty colors!" It looks more like clear, colored glass than the bouncy dessert found in Chinese buffets across the nation. [via TasteSpotting]...
