You know why today is such a great day? Sure, the sun is out, and it's going to get above 40 degrees. But it's also National Pancake Day, or at least that is what IHOP is pushing for. To celebrate the occasion, you could drop by IHOP for a free short stack of pancakes. But we also happen to have some very definite opinions on where to eat pancakes in Chicago
The IHOP menu claims the Bacon and Cheddar Hash Brown Stack is composed of "golden hash browns topped with crisp diced bacon, melted cheddar cheese, sliced tomato, an over-medium egg, rich hollandaise sauce, and green onion." Only parts of this are accurate. The hash browns, for example, are not golden. They are white. Friends, have you ever eaten raw potato? Don't eat raw potato.
The folks at the IHOP recently added Chicken and Waffles to their menu—a classic that's pretty hard not to like. Except the plate you get is not exactly fried chicken and waffles—it's chicken fingers.
We knew this day would come. A major chain has finally taken the nation's bacon and burger obsessions and blended them. IHOP recently introduced Bacon 'N Beef Burgers, a line of burgers with bacon blended right into the patty.
Halloween is right around the corner. Drugstores have stocked shelves with candy; another sequel to Saw is coming out; someone carved Ed Levine's face onto a pumpkin. And knowing that holidays bring business, a number of large chains are currently serving up pumpkin treats as limited-time offers. Are any of them tasty? Take a look.
This IHOP commercial from 1969 features everything you love about America's favorite house of pancakes: happy family members running in slow motion while carrying giant clusters of balloons, a voiceover that sounds like a chipmunk, unappetizing-looking food...wait, what?
As part of National Pancake Day tomorrow, February 24, participating IHOP restaurants will be giving out free short stacks of buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.—no coupon or purchase necessary. IHOP patrons, however, are asked to donate the price of the meal—or more—to a local childrens hospital or charity. To find an IHOP near you, use the chain's locator. [via YumSugar]...
"Join IHOP to celebrate National Pancake Day (also known as Mardi Gras, or Shrove Tuesday) on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., we’ll give you one free short stack (three) of our famous buttermilk pancakes. All we ask is that you consider making a donation to support local children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network, or other local charities." They raised $340,000 in 2006 and are hoping to hit half a million today, so if you're inclined to eat pancakes and help out, you know what to do!...
