It's a Halloween Special of My Pie Monday, Slice'rs! The pies look as good as ever, but this week we've added a twist. If you frequent the weekly My Pie Monday galleries, you may think you've got an eye for the signature look of pies by regular contributors. I know I do. This week we're going to make it a "guess whose pie" game.
After a Labor Day hiatus, we're back for more My Pie Monday! Woo hoo! There's a great line-up from the last two weeks, folks!
Check out this week's collection of homemade pizzas made by Slice readers. This week's roundup includes a pie made in honor of a Calabrian saint, a TXCraig twist on a Paulie Gee menu favorite, "Garden Pie" and much more!

Another fine week on the My Pie Monday circuit here at Slice. We've got a self-proclaimed non-gloopy, brighter version of a cheesy artichoke pie from dhorst, further experimentations in dough from Norma427 and jimmyg, a pie that's sure to cure any Brussels sprouts addiction from TXCraig1, and a take on Deep Dish from livefreeorpie.
Happy very eclectic My Pie Monday! No two pizzas are alike in this 15 pie roundup. From newcomer AMLewis' Dutch oven cooked pie to the Daily Slice-inspired "Mootzaleppo" by Imwalkin, you Slice'rs are demonstrating some serious diversity and creativity—but no surprise there. Norma and Ev spent some time firing pizzas in Ev's wood fired oven and were met with what looks like great success. Atmast has been saving up some sous vide Corned Beef that she used on her Irish pie, whereas Bierebeer opted to go the barbecue brisket route. There's a Rosa a la Chris Bianco from Burger365, and a hazelnut and date pizza from Redwgn67. Tupper Cooks! finally got to try out cheese curd as a topping, and Tscarborough submits his all-time favorite jalapeño and pepperoni topped pie. There's some mushroom pie advice from TXCraig1 and amusebouche1 revisited the southern inspired tomato pie. There's also a tomato and garlic pie from BHkitchen, a smoky mozzarella and broccoli rabbi by maxcriden, and a whole slew of pizzas from forzapizza.
We have a mighty fine My Pie Monday here! Included in today's mouthwatering dozen is the last Top This recipe, Paulie Gee's "Cherry Jones", as done by dmcavanagh. Girl Loves Pizza dove into pickle territory a la dhorst, and also getting into unconventional topping territory, a scotch whiskey splashed pie from jimmyg. A warm Slice welcome to pizzamaking.com member CTMike, whose first time submission is in the mix. More incredible looking pies come from: Norma427, amusebouche1, forzapizza, billgraney, TxCraig1, Imwalkin, and paralleli!
I'm filling in for Slice Queen Meredith this week and normally more work = less fun, but darned if you Slice'rs don't make this job easy. This week we've got fifteen pies on the menu. As usual, dmcavanagh comes through, this week with two pies! LLTODDJ and Zumicroom both give us their best Neapolitan stylings while nzmick brings a taste of Chicago to the other side of the globe. You'll find a Texan who likes salad on their pie (woulda never thought I'd see the day), more mushrooms than you can toss a crust at from amusebouche1, and roast chicken pie from billgraney that looks so good it could even convert this non-chicken-on-pizza eater.
It's another gorgeous My Pie Monday here at Slice! Seriously. Every one of these pies looks freakin' awesome. West Coast pizzerias like Una Pizza Napoletana and L.A.'s Akasha served as the inspiration behind Scott D's Filetti and Amusebouche1's squash topped pie. Codfish30 and Forzapizza each created exemplars of the classic Margherita. Jamesws had a rendezvous with his in-laws pizza oven and has a killer arugula topped pie to show for it. Continuing her exploration in Greek territory, Norma427 experimented with low hydration pies and gives a glimpse here. And jimmyg and TXCraig1 have two extraordinary looking mushroom topped pies.
It's My Pie Monday time! There may have been a little Memorial Day weekend email hiccup (apologies), but all pies missing from last week's post are corralled here. And there are some spicy ones in the mix. Today's gallery of pies include peppers of the homemade, pickled variety from jamesws, an extra spicy cheese sauce on ardubs81's breakfast pizza , and joebeone's spicy sopressata pizza gets some additional heat from sliced jalapeños. Sweet peppers make an appearance on square_pie's sausage, mushroom creation, Jimmyg exhibits his freestyle success, Dneblank tops his no-knead dough with clams, and Dhorst brings more fruits de mer on the scene with her Longbow's Lobster Pizza. In addition, Norma427 tests out a new dough mix, ForzaPizza has pictures from the season's first oven firing, and Tscarborough walks the line Provencal with Luque olives, capers, and blue cheese.
Completelypizza sent in a shaved asparagus pizza—are we gonna see ramps next? We've also got a Scalloped Potato pizza with bacon and cheddar from Ev, a mixed mushroom pie from beelzebozo , a beautiful Balsamic Onion Marmalade-topped pizza from James S, plus more from Norma427, C.Mac, and Forzapizza.
Wow. This week's batch of My Pie Monday entries is full of traditionally awesome and awesomely nontraditional pizzas. Arugula seems to be on the brain — maybe it's a way to wish spring into being — and we see it on Alberto's, Scott D.'s, and BillCBP's pies. Some great mushroom pizzas in the bunch too, which brings to mind foraging in the woods, which is what I think Jamesws did for the fungi on his pie. And then there's Norma with deep-fried pizza and Girl Loves Pizza with a chimichanga pie. Other great-looking entries from Tupper Cooks, Burger365, joeindc44, Norma, Robert in Dallas, Ev, thearrogantchef, tom100, and Tscarborough.
On the menu today: a Sicilian-style pie from ESNY1077, an arugula-topped pizza from ForzaPizza, TupperCook's stuffed pizza, and some serious meatballs on Amusebouche1's pie. Plus great looking homemade pizza from Norma427, IDreamofPizza, Mediocrepop, BiereBeer, and Adam Kuban.
"I categorize a lot of pizzerias as "Progressive Neapolitan," and I would like to think that description fits me as well. It means building on the foundation of a traditional Neapolitan pizza whether you are herbalizing the sauce, stiffening the crust a bit, or anything else along those lines."
