Hello, Cereal Lovers and Eaters! It's been a hot minute. 2012 was an interesting year cereal-wise. We reminisced about a lot of classic favorites and tried a lot of new varieties that just didn't work. Well, I'm happy to kick off 2013 with brand new editions of some of my favorites cereals: Honey Nut Cheerios Medley and Peanut Butter Toast Crunch. Both cereals just hit the shelves!
'Cheerios' on Serious Eats
Over the last few weeks, our cereal bureau chief Leandra has been tasting her way through the library of Cheerios flavors in our office. The number of handfuls of O's she's eaten in the name of research? We probably can't even count that high. Herewith a look at all the flavors in one slideshow, with tasting notes on each. There were many highs, some lows. What box of Cheerios do you reach for?
And now we arrive at our final stop on our comprehensive Cheerios quest, the Odds and Ends. To be honest, most of these Cheerios were pretty new to me and I'm curious to find out if any of them have a big fan base. Ever heard of Banana Nut Cheerios? Or Yogurt Burst Cheerios? Or Oat Cluster Cheerios?
We're back for the second round of our exploration into the beloved Cheerios and its many varieties. Many of you shared your love for the basics last week and its great to know there are many other Multigrain lovers out there! Now we venture further, into murkier, more sugary territory. Today, we take a look at Frosted Cheerios, Fruity Cheerios, and Chocolate Cheerios.
We're looking at what I like to call the "Big 3" of Cheerios: Original, Honey Nut and MultiGrain. Any die-hard original Cheerios fans out there? Can we talk about the awesomeness of Honey Nut and MultiGrain?
Milk helped, but not a whole lot. I passed the box of Dulce de Leche Cheerios around SEHQ to make sure it wasn't my dislike alone; my suspicions were confirmed. Even for those who love the Latin American dessert, this cereal isn't cutting it.
