Top 10 Songs Using Sexually Suggestive Food Metaphors

20080806-kellsbells.jpgThis list puts Van Halen's "Pound Cake" at No. 1. I'll give them points for effort, but where the heck is R. Kelly's "In the Kitchen"? (Then again, with R. Kells, it often goes beyond simple metaphor.)

16 Comments:

R. Kelly is a master of the literal. I like that about him.

I'm still a big fan of Lil' Wayne's "so I let her lick the (w)rapper" joke in "Lollipop"...

Perhaps when Kells stops the song cold in order to shout, acapella, "GIRL I AM REA-DY TO TOSS YOUR SA-LAD", he was being too subtle?

Also, Prince's "Cream" being omitted? That ain't right! What about James Brown's "Mother Popcorn"? There are so many omitted here.

My "Milkshake" brings all the boys to the yard................

"Pour some sugar on me" Def Leopard.

Sometime anytime sugar me sweet, little miss uh innocent sugar me

Pour some sugar on me, Ooh, in the name of love, Pour some sugar on me, C'mon fire me up, Pour your sugar on me , Oh, I can't get enough

You got the peaches, I got the cream, Sweet to taste, saccharine, 'Cos I'm hot, say what, sticky sweet, From my head, my head, to my feet

Do you take sugar? one lump or two?

@BirdDoggie I forgot about that one excellent choice!!!

I think Savoy Truffle actually was about the food. Can't someone just make an ode to sweets without everyone getting their mind in the gutter!? Gosh! ;)

How did they leave out Sex in the Kitchen?!

Steve Miller Band "The Joker"

"You're the cutest thing that I ever did see
I really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree
Lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey, lovey-dovey all the time
Ooo-eee baby, I'll sure show you a good time"

Best line in a song EVER - "I love you like a fat kid loves cake", 50 cent!! I would swoon if someone told me that...

How in the hell does "Pour Some Sugar On Me" not make that list, and M.C. Friggin' Lyte does?

How did Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" not get a mention? I think it was a popular song...

...or I'm just thinking of the images from the video.

I'm too scared to get a virus by going on a lyrics website to check. :P

How about Cornbread by the Dave Matthews Band

"You ain't ever had my cornbread, it's a little bit of heaven and a little bit of aw yeah. Open up and jump right in."

Wait, I can't BELIEVE no one mentioned Gravy (For My Mashed Potatoes)! Hahahaha

Gravy
On my mashed potatoes, give me
Gravy
Come and treat me right
Gravy
You
Give me, give me
Give me, give me gravy tonight

My friend and I went on a random find-food-song-lyrics hunt one day. The rest weren't so sexual, but "Cheeseburger" from veggie tales is a beautiful ode to said food item ;P

and probably the best song not listed, "Brown Sugar" by the Rolling Stones.

Ah, brown sugar. How come you taste so good?
brown sugar, just like a black girl should...
