In Videos: New 'Dinner Impossible' Chef Michael Symon Makes Chocolate-Covered Bacon

videos-michaelsymon-baconchoc.jpg

Judging from the preview episode that aired this past Sunday night, the new Dinner Impossible with Michael Symon looks like a winner. This episode takes place in Wildwood, New Jersey, with a challenge to make "upscale boardwalk food" for 600 people using the boardwalk's vendors and supplies. In a stroke of brilliance, Symon gets the venerable Laura's Fudge to help make chocolate-covered bacon with almonds. Video of the bacon after the jump.

Symon rocks. This is going to be a fantastic show!

Preview looks good -- and was there ever any doubt chocolate and bacon would be good?

Does anyone know if Symon is still on "Iron Chef America" too?

Oh, he used bacon in a nontraditional manner?

yawn.

I hope he has something more up his sleeve.

I like his style! Can't wait to catch an episode.

Chocolate covered bacon initially turned me off but after dissecting it to be a combo of sweet and salty, I would say this could work and might actually be delicious. I would love to try it sometime.

Sweet and salty.... hmmm.... interesting.

I wonder how chocolate covered beef jerky might taste.

I have to say that the wife and I didn't really like Symon on this show. While we like him on other shows, he's no Robert Irvine.

So you're saying he has an honest resume?

My TV schedule from Food Network shows a rerun of the old DI, not the new Symon one!

@jackiecat: you're right, The Food Network has a confusing website that made it appear as though the episode airing tonight was one with Michael Symon.

Chocolate covered bacon has got me salivating....

Did someone say this guy is "no Robert Irvine"? So, he's not a fraud?! YAY!

Bring back Robert Irvine PLEASE! I like Symon on the iron chef. I thought Symon was nothing special in this episode.

There is but one host of Dinner: Impossible and that is Robert Irvine. The show is dead to me.

The show isn't called the Robert Irvine Show, it's Dinner Impossible. If the execs change the host each year, so what? Get over it.
