Choose the New Mountain Dew: Demographics and Soda Preferences

In case you haven't been following how the crucial Dewmocracy race is shaping up across the nation—the race in which we all come together to decide among Mountain Dew Voltage, Supernova, and Revolution—well, So Good blog has been handicapping the proceedings. So Good proprietor John Eick revealed yesterday that Voltage (blue raspberry) was winning in every single state and had even analyzed results in several states:
So why all the hate for the strawberry melon Revolution? Well, don’t be fooled. There appear to be some interesting regional taste preferences. I can’t discern the national trend, but the strawberry seems to be running ahead of the wild berry in large parts of the Southwest, Midwest and Southeast. For example, in California, it’s running a tight second place, with 39% to blue raspberry’s 44%.
As of publication of this post, however, it looks like Revolution (wild berry fruit) is carrying West Virginia while Supernova (Strawberry Melon) has pulled ahead in California and Arizona. Nevada is in a three-way tie. Looks like this race could use some John King touchscreen groping.
