Photo of the Day: Cherry Crumb Pie on Notebook Paper Plate
When I first say Marilyn's photo of her cherry crumb pie, I thought, "Why is she eating it on top of a piece of notebook paper?" Of course, it's a plate that's just made to look like a piece of notebook paper, which she bought from Fishs Eddy. Now I want my own notebook paper plate!...and slice of pie.

Nice plate. It would be great if it came with a chocolate pen to write on it with, too!
I've always wondered what it would be like to eat off of Judy Chicago's dinner plates, a different one each day.

why use a notebook plate?? i'm confused. we just use actual notebooks (or printer paper, or paper towels, really anything you can find) when we run out of plates at work. and it makes for easy clean up! rip off the top sheet and you are done!

I think eating off of Judy Chicago's dinner plates would be blasphemous, and pretty difficult for the more recent ones (as the flowers protrude more out).

It would be difficult, as you note iliana. In a sense, perhaps that would add to the experience - for it is to be imagined that each life of each individual woman represented by each of those plates was difficult at times. (The life of a white lined notebook could be quite difficult also, as princexy notes above!)
It depends on what one believes Art (or art) is. Is it sacred, belonging in museums, chosen and stapled into its sanctity by the curator for the crowds to stare at and critics to make their own careers upon? Or is it something else . . . which could be any number of things?
In my imagination, if I were one of the women represented by Judy Chicago, I would like to think that somewhere sometime in the future there might be someone (woman or man) who would dine upon a plate that said "Me" - and while dining to commune with me, in a sense.
Regardless of what the price Sotheby is assessing the plate at. :)

This would be a great plate for a graduation or going off to collage party but it seems odd for normal use as it is a real plate not a paper plate, right? it is a real paper plate i mean yes that is funny but for reg use..........
