Don't Get Bean Boozled

meanjellybeans.jpgBetter be careful the next time you dip your hand in a bowl full of jelly beans, 'cause what you thought was coconut-flavored could end up being tasting like... baby wipes. Just look for Jelly Belly's Bean Boozled, which contains two versions of ten colors. You have classic flavors like buttered popcorn, licorice, peach—and then you have their evil twins. Some are just nasty surprises, like black pepper in lieu of plum, toothpaste instead of berry blue—but others are just weird: what do pencil shavings even taste like? Then there's the downright cruel, with vomit replacing peach, ear wax for cafĂ© latte, and boogers for juicy pear.

If anything, it might make you swear off certain flavors forever by way of these taste associations. [Slog, via The Amateur Gourmet]

So is this an iteration of Bertie Bott's Every Flavo(u)r Beans?

hey, i love the buttered popcorn!!!!!!!!

jobug_tincher: You can have 'em. I always thought the buttered popcorn jb was vile. Can't imagine "booger" would be a great replacement, though.

You have to feel bad for the entry level person they got to test the flavors for accuracy.

This has got to be the best practical joke ever!

I got some of these over the weekend, and I was upset I did not get ONE pencil shaving jellybean in two boxes. Baby wipes taste just like they smell but it was oddly palatable.

I think I'd like to try the black pepper one....I love black pepper gelato!

@subvelocity, your comment cracked me up!

I'd love to buy these and play a joke on all the people I know who throw handfuls of snacks in their mouths without a second thought. Hahaha

I haven't had those, but I did get a box of Bertie Bott's beans, which had most of those flavors. Black pepper is actually pretty good. Vomit is predictably vile. Earwax is bland but bitter.

The booger ones don't really have a taste, they're just sweet, which must be what attracts little kids.
