Photo of the Day: Rainbow Jell-O

potd-rainbowjello.jpg

While jiggling cubes of Jell-O don't usually catch my attention or make my mouth water, the rainbow Jell-O from Do Better triggered the part of my brain that squeals, "Ooh, pretty colors!" It looks more like clear, colored glass than the bouncy dessert found in Chinese buffets across the nation. [via TasteSpotting]

that really is so damn pretty
tempted to give it a go

so pretty...

but really - it's still just jello

They have jello at Souplantation too. Though, never as pretty as this.

That's blowing my mind, man.

Gorgeous...

I wonder if it's a different flavor per color...

MMMMmmm Fruti Cocktail Jello.

Oh my gosh, they made this in my high school! It's so purty. A couple of years ago, I saw this jello mold made with, like, 15 layers, and was absolutely gorgeous. I was going to make it. Then I remembered. It's jello. So that kinda stopped it.

But there's way cool stuff you can do with it, at least visually. As example:

Jello Fishbowl
Gorgeous Jello Shots
Jello Turkey

Jello can be a really cool tool for weird artistic expression. But, again, when it comes down to it, no matter what ya' do, it still tastes like jello.

To get the real vibrant colors, use the Jello/water ratio on the box for Jello Jigglers instead of regular Jello.

it's like super psychadelic jello!!! and ab fab.

Oooohhh, pwwetttyy!

That's blowing my mind too, dude.

OOOOOOOOH! The colors, man, the colors!

Yah, know yah gotta love Jell-o for what it is. And you can do some cool stuff with it. Now it isn't creme brulee or the perfect fourless chocolate cake, but it is a comfort food in a weird sort of way.

I am so making this for Gay Pride Day.

My family makes this. I also make Broken Glass jello.

That so lovely!!! I love jello! I want a bite of that!

My aunt adds a layer of geltanized milk between each flavored layer for a cool striped look - a childhood favorite.
