I had no idea that Doritos packaging ever looked as cute and simple as this one from the 1970s. Today's bag design looks a bit more...intense. Check out more great retro food packages in Roadsidepictures' Flickr set.

Boy does this take me down the memory lane of retailing! Packaging back then was less in-your-face. It was gentler and more homespun. Today it's all bright colors and high-tech. Technology has a come a long way over the years and a good deal of marketing is aimed at young adults whose sensibilities are more in tune with it. Anyway, thanks for a bit of nostalgia.

Awwww, it's the Doritos of my youth!

Ahhh...back when I could eat a whole bag in one sitting!
