In Videos: I Drink Your Shamrock Milkshake

Or, perhaps I should say, "I drink your shamrock ice-milk product." After the jump, and in honor of St. Patty's Day tomorrow, a blast from the past—even though you can apparently still get Shamrock Shakes at McDonald's today. Says Serious Eats writer Erin Zimmer: "I just had one yesterday. Disappointing."

this is cruel & unusual punishment. why oh why don't north carolina mcdonalds have shamrock shakes?

This was a topic on "Talk" and I had never tried one, so I made a point to get one last week. One was enough. I had to hold it for awhile in the car before I was able to drink it. It wasn't cold anymore, but it was still very thick. That's scary!

That little girl in the commercial is SO adorable!

It felt like their vanilla shake with a shot of mint syrup. Potentially mouthwash.

Shamrock shakes are the best thing about living in NJ. Is that a compliment to the shamrock shake, or an insult to NJ? You decide.

Ewww. Ewwww. Ewwwwwwwww. I didn't like them then, I'm sure I'd like them even less now.

Keep that minty Scope syrup the hell away from my milkshakes!!

Wow - to the extent that commercials can be viewed as a snapshot of time, that one really says a lot... It also made me realize how much more subtle and sneaky advertising has become in the last 20 years!

Funny, they were advertising them at the Toronto Raptors game a few days back.

oh how i miss it now that i cant get one! i just want that one on st patty's day! we dont have 'em in western nc! well... i guess there's one thing i miss abt florida...

I had one the first few days it came back, and it tasted like green vanilla. No mint at all. When I finally decided to try another one, every mcdonald's told me it was sold out

the Shamrock sundae looks good to.
