PrintIn Videos: Roger Clemens Doesn't Know What a Vegan Is
During the recent Congressional hearings, Bruce Braley, a Democrat from Iowa, asked Roger Clemens if he had ever been a vegan. Clemens, dumbfounded, responded, “I don’t know what that is. I’m sorry."
PETA, feeling the need to educate, couldn't help but mail Clemens a care package of vegan treats, including vegan chocolate bars and faux beef jerky. Which I'm sure turned him around.

Setting aside the fact that this might be one of the stupidest topics Congress every held hearings on, (and that's saying something!), how in the world could anyone, even a Congressman, come up with such a stupid question?

Agreed, SRHCB, but if Congress is (verbally) grilling Roger Clemens, they can't be paying attention the Iraq (where was that again?), veterans' care (what team did Walter Reed play on?), still-devastated New Orleans (Katrina who?), health care (the insurance companies that so generously make campaign contributions say we don't need to worry about that), Osama bin-Laden (is he the guy who's running for President?), etc., etc. PETA is on the right track on a lot of issues, but their agenda doesn't have to be inserted into every issue. How many people with loud PETA voices know baseball jargon.

He’s a jock... As American as, Baseball, Hot dogs, Apple pie. Attorneys-politicians will be attorneys. During a deposition or congressional hearing attorneys-politicians ask the questions and you answer them. Remember... we don’t ask them questions, because if and when we do you never really get an answer.
Representative Bruce L. Braley... in my opinion, what a silly question!

It's kind of ironic Congress alls there "hearings", since nobody really listens to anyone but themselves?

I agree with all of the previous comments. I believe however that the vegan question was asked because Clemens claims that some of the shots he received were vitamin B12. Apparently since vegans aren't eating quite right they sometimes require supplemental B12.

Humm! No B-12, a lack of which causes dementia. This explains a lot about vegans.
