Hannah Kaminsky of BitterSweet didn't intend to make doughnut sandwiches filled with maple frosting, but when her homemade baked doughnuts came out flat-topped, it was the only way to salvage the fat doughnut bottoms. Some of the best ideas come out of mistakes! [via tastespotting]

Now if I could only convince the local donut chain to do that...

I meant it to be that way... yeah, yeah... it was supposed to be like that! That's a classic example of a happy accident.

Nice! Donut sandwiches are great. I'd recommend the donut ham hamburger.

Brilliant! Throw in a slice of bacon and it's perfect.
