In Videos: 'Pupurun' Japanese Candy Commercial

videos-japanesecandy.jpg

I love this commercial for Pupurun, a candy from Japan-based Meiji, because instead of highlighting the joy the eater gets from the candy, it shows the candy being ecstatically happy to be eaten. Look how freakin' jubilant this candy is to be dissolved by your saliva! It's practically having an orgasm.

Watch the cuteness after the jump.

Although I would gladly grant the little yellow blob's wish of being eaten, that neon yellow color is completely turning me off.

I know, I know, color shouldn't matter, but he's NEON. I mean, I'm as open-minded as you can get but neon kind of terrifies me. Unless Pupurun will grant me superpowers, I'm afraid he'll just have to wait in vain and pine for my digestive action.

(I love the commercial though. That "aaaaaaah" in the end made me feel a little funny in the belly.)

@lorelei76: The brighter yellow the candy is, the happier it is!

SO HAPPY, SO HAPPY TO BE EATEN, ZOMG.

Is it just me or is the name pu-pu-run
ummm..kind of funny?

LOL--thanks for this end-of-the-day-smile!

Hwow. It really looked like it was reaching a sexual climax...

Eat a Pupurun and its toes curl up! LOL.

Definitely amusing!

@bisbee: Names like those are common in Japan. "Cute", easily pronounceable names (sometimes with no actual meaning) are a popular means of marketing products.

@lorelei76: Think of it as a super-powered lemon drop. ZOOM!

moral of the story? pieces of candy chilling by escalators love to be eaten. gratify them!

Taberaretai! :)

I've had these gummis before, they are GOOOD!

Or should I say "Oishii"?
