Photo of the Day: Budae Jjigae

potd-budaejjigae.jpg

Budae jjigae, or "army stew," is a Korean soup dish whose name stems from the use of surplus foods from the US Army in a traditional gochujang-based soup. Su-Lin added the former Army surplus foods Spam and hot dogs to her budae jjigae along with ramen, spring onions, and Chinese cabbage, and served the stew over white rice.

That looks pretty good and simple enough to toss together when I'm super lazy. Guess I'll grab some hot dogs and spam next time I'm at the store.

Finally! Something to put instant ramen in that really looks good! I'd forego the white rice, though or leave out the noodles.

Ramen and hot dogs? Welcome to my childhood. In my 7-year old days, I was also known to put Kraft cheese on my ramen but that's another story...

dude, that's top romin....

Woah, this is seriously bringing back such great memories of childhood. I, too, put half a slice of Kraft cheese in my ramen. :)
